Kanewaka is a Gunto swordsmith.
A work from the late WWII period, either late 1944 or 1945.
The tang is stamped with "昭".
This is proof that it passed the factory's rigorous quality inspection.
The Gunome-Hamon still shines brightly today.
On the back of the tang there is the number "5" written in red paint.
This is thought to be a manufacturing control number.
