KOTO Katana Muromachi period mumei, Iron Fittings Practical Koshirae
KATANA from the Muromachi period.
The Koshirae is simple, but the fittings use a lot of iron, giving it a practical style.
A very large Tsuba is attached.
The blade shows signs of fatigue, but this should be tolerated as it is estimated to be over 500 years old.
Suriage has been performed; it seems that it was originally a much larger sword, but it was trimmed to the optimal length for the era.
Interestingly, the Habaki is shaped like Mount Fuji.
