The Tang is engraved with the chrysanthemum crest (菊紋 Kikumon) and signature.
The Mino Style Autumn Grass (秋草 Akikusa) Fuchikashira is also attractive.
There is a Homarekizu (誉傷) on the Mune side of the blade.
This is a cut scar that is thought to have been made when the blade was used to defend against an opponent's sword attack in battle.
Considering the condition of the blade, there is no doubt that it was used in actual combat.
For a Wakizashi, it is very thick and sturdy.
The silver covered Futae-Habaki is also attractive.
